Biography
Aviaah is an Articling Student at Carbert Waite LLP. Aviaah joined the firm in June 2022 after graduating from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law.
Aviaah is a strong advocate for access to justice. During her legal studies, Aviaah was the Calgary Chapter Coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada. A highlight from this experience was that Aviaah developed the Chapter’s Not In My City Project, which allows law students to work with provincial change-makers to develop legislative responses to human trafficking in Alberta. Aviaah also volunteered with Student Legal Assistance as a case worker and dedicated her time to several public legal education initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of marginalized experiences within the legal profession.
Before law school, Aviaah earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia with a double major in History and Political Science. During this time, Aviaah volunteered with the university’s Student Health Services to provide professional coaching and mental health assistance to undergraduate and graduate students.
In her spare time, Aviaah enjoys yoga, travelling, and discovering new music.
