Biography

Cayley practices primarily in the areas of estates and commercial litigation and has worked on matters before all levels of the Alberta Courts. In addition to her litigation practice, Cayley assists clients with their estate planning, will drafting, and estate administration needs.

Cayley’s experience with commercial and estate litigation gives her insight into potential issues and disputes that can arise during the estate administration process or situations of adult incapacity. This insight allows her to be proactive in preparing wills and incapacity plans, and in supporting her clients through probate and administration. Likewise, Cayley’s experience in commercial litigation, and particularly with shareholder disputes, gives her a useful perspective for clients who need advice about succession planning for their family businesses, or other private businesses and ventures.

Cayley cares deeply about her clients and the legal challenges they face during difficult times. It is Cayley’s goal to make sure clients feel heard and supported, as well as confident that they are receiving a range of options and sage advice.

Cayley joined Carbert Waite in 2022 after practicing at a large national law firm and a boutique estate litigation firm. She earned her law degree from the University of Calgary in 2016 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2017.

Outside of her busy legal practice, Cayley serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Administrative Law Reports and has served as a volunteer lawyer with Pro Bono Law Alberta’s Court Assistance Programs and the University of Calgary Wills Clinic offered by Pro Bono Students Canada.
