Biography

Katie is an associate at Carbert Waite LLP. Katie maintains a general litigation practice with an emphasis on health law, employment law, and commercial litigation. She also represents clients in disputes over wills, powers of attorney, and other estate matters. 

In her health practice, Katie advises and represents healthcare institutions and other health professionals on a wide range of complex issues, including medical malpractice defence and professional liability. 

In her employment practice, Katie advises both employees and employers on a variety of matters including terminations of employment, disability, and human rights. 

Prior to joining Carbert Waite, Katie practiced at national law firms in Calgary and Ottawa where her primary focus was on defending healthcare institutions and physicians, and other industry professionals like engineers, architects, and lawyers. Katie also represented insurers on an array of matters including product liability, professional negligence, personal injury, contractual disputes, and construction litigation.

Katie has appeared before trial and appellate courts in Alberta and Ontario. She has also represented clients before various administrative and regulatory bodies. 

Katie is fluent in Korean.
