Carbert Waite – An Active Participant in Canada’s Employment Law Community

This year, partner and employment group’s co-chair, Stephen Torscher, will participate in the panel session titled “The Limits of Freedom of Expression for Employees and Professionals: Implications for Employment Law and Professional Regulation” on November 29. The session will explore the challenging balance between freedom of expression and its impact on employment law and professional standards. As global issues become increasingly controversial and social media amplifies personal opinions, key questions will be addressed, such as:

  • Where should the line be drawn when it comes to expressing opinions in the workplace?
  • How can off-duty statements affect an employee’s job?
  • How do regulated professionals navigate the tension between personal views and professional obligations?

We look forward to seeing and networking with colleagues from across the country. Learn more about the event and conference details here.
