Biography

Manpreet is an Associate at Carbert Waite LLP, practising exclusively in immigration law. She obtained her LL.B. from Bond University in 2022 and was called to the Alberta Bar in June 2025. She began her legal career in 2022 as an assistant to Peter W. Wong, K.C., a highly respected immigration practitioner with over 40 years of experience and continues to work closely with him on complex matters, including proceedings before the Federal Court, the Immigration Appeal Division, and the Refugee Protection Division.

During her articles at a mid-sized firm recognized for its immigration practice, Manpreet also gained exposure to litigation and corporate/commercial work and had the opportunity to take carriage of her own files from start to finish. Her practice now spans a broad range of immigration matters, including permanent residence applications, in-Canada humanitarian and compassionate applications, refugee claims, family class and spousal sponsorships, PRRA submissions, inadmissibility (including criminal and medical inadmissibility) and removal matters, as well as appeals such as spousal sponsorship and residency obligation appeals. She is also well versed in temporary residence applications, including LMIA-based and LMIA-exempt work permits, post-graduation work permits, study permits, and visitor visas.

Manpreet assists a diverse clientele, including major resource and logistics companies, as well as individuals and families from the Punjabi community and broader Asian communities. She is known for a client-focused, detail-oriented approach and recognizes that immigration processes are often stressful and deeply personal; clients frequently appreciate her calm, empathetic support throughout their matters.

Outside of practice, Manpreet enjoys spending time with her family. Born and raised in Italy, she is a self-described foodie who loves discovering new cuisines and trying new restaurants.
