Justine is an associate at Carbert Waite LLP. Justine practices in all areas of civil and commercial litigation. Her primary practice areas are employment law and health law. Prior to becoming an associate, Justine was an articling student at the firm.
Justine obtained her J.D. from the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, Justine obtained her B.A. Hons. in English Literature with First Class Honours from St. Francis Xavier University and her M.A. in English Literature from Dalhousie University.
While in law school, Justine pursued her interest in litigation by competing in local, national and international competitions in the University of Calgary’s mooting program. In her second year, Justine placed second in the 2013 William McGillivray Moot Shield Competition and was selected to compete in the 2014 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Justine competed in the national rounds of the competition and advanced to the international rounds in Washington D.C. In her third year, Justine was selected to compete in the 2015 Davies’ Corporate/Securities Law Moot Competition where she placed second.
Justine continues to be involved with the University of Calgary’s mooting program. Justine organizes the William McGillivray Moot Shield Competition and is an external member of the Faculty of Law’s Mooting and Debating Committee.
Justine also volunteers with the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Project.
